Standing too long, in general, can be painful. However, if you wear high heels, then you know being on your feet for hours at a time gives a special kind of pain. To remedy, most people will often use certain topical creams, compression foot sleeves, and even heel pads for support. But there is something new to help prevent the discomfort and painful aftermath of wearing high heels: CBD. Nowadays it seems like more and more people are looking for new ways to find relief, and it seems that the cannabinoid has been gaining a lot of traction in the beauty and even the fashion industry.

Short for cannabidiol, CBD is one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Though, CBD won’t cause the high normally associated with marijuana’s THC. CBD is mainly found in hemp plants, which are non-psychoactive and have been widely used medicinally and not recreationally. Not just some trend, but topicals infused with cannabis’ CBD are mainly made to provide relief at the source of pain due to the fact that CBD has the ability to interact with your own body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). This biological system (found in all of us including most animals) is chalked with CB (cannabinoid) receptors and works to help regulate our mood, the way we experience pain, appetite, and many more. When consumed, CBD is said to activate these CB receptors without directly binding to them, providing therapeutic effects in the body.

As such, the cannabinoid has been found in a number of products including capsules, disposable vaporizers, edibles, and more. However, Los Angeles brand Lord Jones has created its first-ever pain-relief cream for feet called, “Stiletto Cream”. Infused with CBD, the cream was created after collaborating with British fashion entrepreneur and co-founder of the luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon. This business venture should come as no surprise, as cannabis’ CBD offers a whole lot—even to those who don’t wear heels such as construction workers or restaurant and post office staff. The cannabinoid contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and omega-3 and -6s which provides moisture to the skin and reduces pain and inflammation, as well as antiseptic properties that help naturally improve sensitive skin for that fresh feel.

With heel lovers in mind, after applying a generous amount, the cream is said to alleviate knots, stings, aches, tightness, cramping, and skin irritation for a more pleasurable experience. Lord Jones’ founder, Cindy Capobianco, shared that her CBD-infused foot cream has many uses. To use, Capobianco recommends applying a “nickel-sized” (which contains about 4 mg. CBD and may be reapplied as necessary) amount to each foot and allowing it to dry before slipping on your stiletto heels. If you are looking to strut your stuff with ease, you can find great relief doing so with this CBD-based remedy without any negative side effects.
